TFL’s complex brings together proven, world-class process technology at every stage of the value chain. Coal blended with pet-coke is gasified through the Shell Coal Gasification Process (SCGP) licensed by Air Products, USA-one of the most widely referenced coal-to-products technologies in the world. Raw syngas is purified by Rectisol and nitrogen wash technology from Linde AG, Germany; ammonia is synthesised on KBR technology from the USA; and urea is produced using the Stamicarbon process from the Netherlands. Integrating four global licensors into a single seamless flowsheet — with carbon dioxide recovered and recycled as urea feedstock, sulphur recovered as a saleable by-product and gasifier ash converted into inert slag is the engineering signature of this project.
